REFERENCE AND INFORMATION DEPARTMENT

The department's mission is to provide thorough, accurate and quick information through the use of the traditional forms of library services and the automated databases.

Written bibliographical references
Retrospective references on reader defined themes and chronological range. The sources are entered and arranged alphabetically according to the standards of bibliographic description.

Computer derived thematic bibliographic references

Bibliographic references are provided in the form of print-outs.

1. Descriptions of articles from Bulgarian magazines - from Series 5 of the Bulgarian National Bibliography - Annals of Articles from Bulgarian journals and collections since the end of 1991.
2. 2. Descriptions of articles from Bulgarian newspapers - from Series 6 of the Bulgarian National Bibliography - Annals of articles from Bulgarian newspapers since the end of 1991.
3. Descriptions of foreign publications in the fields of: linguistics, literary science, philosophy, history of art, archaeology, religion, administration, law, education, geography, ethnology, anthropology, health care organization, sociology, management - from CD-ROM FRANCIS - for the period of 1991 to 1997.
4. Information about translations of books in all languages in the world, data about authors, translators, titles (original and in translation), fields of knowledge, language from/into which the books are translated, publisher's data, etc. - from INDEX TRANSLATIONUM for the period 1979-1998 (1954-1978 in printed format).
5. Information about published books and books in print in English: prices, distributors in Bulgaria - from BOOK-WISE for the period of 1997 to 2001.
6. Articles and documents published by the European Committee concerning the European Union, in various languages - from the Biblio Series.
7. Research programs in the field of communications, health care and social work in full text - from the Annenberg program.
8. Legal information in full text - from the Official Gazette, CIELA - 1998-2001.
9. International academic research in various fields and business information, in full text - from EBSCO - 1984-1999.
